Job Description



Education Level: Bachelors Degree

The Addictions Treatment Counselor implements a wide range of alcohol and drug abuse programs. Provides case management and counseling services to inmates/residents assigned to the addictions treatment program regardless of modality.

Job Requirements

Graduate from an accredited college or university with a degree in psychology, counseling, social work or a closely related field is preferred. Must possess a CADC (Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselors) certification, or in lieu of certification, demonstrate progress towards CADC certification and obtain such certification within thirty six (36) months of hire and meet one of the following criteria: must possess an Idaho Students of Addiction Studies (ISAS); or must have three years of supervised work experience with AODA clients in the ICRC 12 Core Functions where a Bachelors or advanced degree in a Behavioral Science field may be substituted for one of the three years supervised work experience; or possess a NAADAC or ICRC addictions treatment certification. A valid drivers license is preferred, unless required by contract or applicable statute. Individual applicants that do not meet the qualifications above, may be considered on a case-by-case basis, where a compelling reason exists for such consideration.
