Job Classification: Contract QA Manager directs and coordinate the Plant Quality Assurance Department, provides support to operation to assure all products are manufactured and/or packed within good commercial practices; meeting accepted company standards and policies; and meeting all Federal and State regulations in a cost effective and food safe manner.The QA manager is accountable for implementing product quality and food safety programs. This position monitors production methods, product quality, risk management, and product safety, and uses technical knowledge to provide facts and suggestions appropriate for management decisions.Responsibilities include:-Maintain record of product quality checks, reports to customer, manages correspondence between the plant and salesmen or customers to include complaint response.-Directs the loss control program in the area to reduce personal injury accidents, other losses, and to ensure a safe working environment.-Partners with all shift management teams to review product quality to assist and educate to ensure that the needed changes are made and are effective.-Directs the quality assurance functions to provide necessary support to operations-Ensures the implementation and management of companys systems.-The QA manager is responsible for auditing specifications and procedures compliance-Drives continuous improvement and develops appropriate procedures, promotes improvement in group/private discussions-Educates team on the customer expectations and division procedures-Directly supervises the plant sanitation supervisor and is accountable for directing and oversight of all food plant sanitation and cleaning requirements.Requirements:-Bachelors Degree from a 4-year college/university in Food Science (or related discipline), chemistry, biology, or microbiology preferred -Three plus years related experience and/or training.This is a direct placement position with a possibility of relocation package.
