Business Analyst at Boise

Job Classification: Direct Hire

TEKsystems is seeking a strong technical HRIS Analyst to join our clients team in Richland, WA for a direct placement opportunity in the Health Care Industry.

The candidate will perform the following:

1. Embraces Planetree Philosophy to provide a safe, comfortable, therapeutic, patient-centered environment.
2. Analyzes and evaluates departmental processes to determine opportunities for business process improvements and efficiencies to meet our customers needs.
3. Provides HRIS system administration including creating, updating and maintaining all table records.
4. Writes, maintains and supports a variety of reports and queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools. Assists in development of standard reports for ongoing department needs.
5. Helps maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and analyzing data.
6. Maintains users sign on/passwords and sets users security levels.
7. Oversees the daily operation of the HRIS system. Verifies that the appropriate processes have occurred.
8. Monitors system interface to ensure it is functioning properly. Tracks interface issues and works to resolve them in a timely manner.
9. Analyzes and tests additional HRIS application functions and modules to evaluate and recommend opportunities for new processes.
10. Member of team responsible for evaluating HRIS applications and negotiating contracts.
11. Develops test scripts for HRIS system; maintains and revises as necessary as well as runs and tracks results whenever patches, customizations, enhancements and updates are performed.
12. First level of support for departmental application problems and issues. First line of contact with vendor support services whenever problems are encountered.
13. Trains and supports departmental users in use of application modules and functions. Solicits feedback and identifies overall needs of end users.
14. Acts as a liaison between the functional group and IT group. Participates as the primary super user in the implementation and testing of new applications, reports, processes, etc. Provides testing results to appropriate resources.
15. As directed by Manager, attends user conferences, monitors user groups and listservs to remain current with application issues.
16. Documents and tracks customizations/enhancements to ensure they are carried over to new versions and updates; develops specifications for and recommends additional customizations/enhancements.
17. Develops HRIS enhancements to distribute information to Directors and eventually employees as appropriate.
18. Develops related HR policies, procedures, guidelines, manuals, job descriptions and training for HR staff.
19. Develops tracks and maintains HR statistical reporting for Performance Improvement. Prepares monthly/quarterly reports.
20. Assists Human Resources Management team with special projects and other administrative duties as assigned.
21. Performs other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Management team.

Knowledge & Abilities
1. Knowledge of the principles and practices of Human Resources Administration and Information Management.
2. Knowledge of HRIS database design, structure, functions and processes.
3. Knowledge of report writing applications and the ability to utilize them to create effective reports for HR; Management; and staff as appropriate.
4. Knowledge of clients Regional Medical Center organization and structure.
5. Knowledge of regulatory agencies, federal and state laws, rules and regulations governing employment. (FLSA, EEOC, ERISA, COBRA, L&I, State Employment Standards and Joint Commission).
6. Knowledge of labor relations and contract compliance.
7. Knowledge of record-keeping techniques and requirements.
8. Knowledge of budget preparation and control.
9. Knowledge of operation of standard office equipment including a computer and related software applications.
10. Knowledge of oral and written communication skills.
11. Knowledge of interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
12. Ability to plan, coordinate and lead task forces.
13. Ability to work with other management staff to develop systems and processes that are user friendly.
14. Ability to interpret, explain and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures related to Human Resources.
15. Ability to provide technical information and assistance to others concerning employment policies and personnel transactions.
16. Ability to establish priorities, plan and organize work; and meet schedules and time lines.
17. Ability to work independently with little direction.
18. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
19. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
20. Ability to work confidentially with discretion.
