QA Test engineer at Boise

Job Description

Volt is hiring a QA Engineer for a Part Time, on-site position with our client in Boise, ID. This company is a global digital marketing solutions agency with people throughout offices in the U.S. and Europe, working with an outstanding client roster.The QA Engineer will create an overall testing strategy for a newly created website, write test case scenarios and scripts, and will be involved in debugging and root cause analysis of complex customer issues, understanding customer scenarios & ensuring high quality for the fixes. The candidate will work with a variety of test tools, testing frameworks.Responsibilities:

  • Design & develop test scenarios that accurately gauge product quality.
  • Perform Debugging and Root Cause Analysis of Content failures and customer reported issues.
  • Create and maintain automated build process
  • Reproduce customer problems and perform risk/cost analysis for every fix.
  • Design & Develop test automation & testing infra for update content testing
  • Write clear, complete & portable test plans which effectively minimize manual testing
  • Identify and adopt new testing methodologies, best practices, and tools from appropriate sources, to improve test coverage.

Job Requirements

Ability to write test plans, test cases from requirements Extensive experience in testing web-based application systems in Java and .NET Experience in CMS helpful (Umbraco) Extensive experience with functional test execution Extensive experience designing test cases Experience testing complex web-based applications Some experience writing queries to verify backend functionality Moderate knowledge of HTML, SQL, and/or PHP; 2-3 years of experience in software design & development. Experience working with VMs or testing on Cloud-based servers Experience with Test Automation required (as a developer/creator, not just as a user) Strong in debugging, troubleshooting and problem solving Analytical problem solving and passion for quality. Keen desire and ability to break software. Passion for engineering excellence through automation and process improvements. Experience with performance and load testing Self-motivated -- able to meet aggressive delivery deadlines tied to release schedules Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable collaborating Attention to detail and ability to create/follow standardsVolt is an Equal Opportunity EmployerLocation: Boise, ID
