This position is responsible for accepting and tracking all hospital transfers and transports. They must communicate with physicians, physician offices, and outlying facilities. They will use problem-solving skills to determine the best course of action and placement of the patient within the hospital which will be satisfactory to the patient, the physician and the hospital. They will coordinate the assignment of patient care beds within the hospital and manage the flow of patients throughout the facility efficiently. They will work in collaboration with multiple departments within the hospital and facilitate regularly scheduled bed management meetings with hospital staff. Through the nursing process, they will use specific protocols and established resources, collect specific data and record information in database/documentation form, assess the patients condition, provide accurate consistent information and formulate a plan of care. They will consult with on-call physicians and/or urgent care physicians on patient care and provide assistance and advice when appropriate. They will be involved with various marketing and public relations activities.

Job Requirements

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: BSN License preferred, licensed in the state of Idaho.B. Education: Graduate from accredited school of Nursing. C. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience required. Previous management experience with knowledge of hospital and health care delivery systems preferred.D. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Basic telephone triage experience; basic typing skills, 30 wpm; basic personal computer skills.
  • Ability to analyze information of a complex nature; ability to organize and prioritize multiple complex tasks; ability to problem-solve and make decisions quickly.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Positive, enthusiastic, helpful personality.
  • Initiative, creativity, and flexibility are essential.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Must be proficient in EMTALA.
  • Proficient in running Central Logic, Teletracker and other Call and office-oriented systems as needed.
  • Hospital mandatorys, compliance with code of ethics, annual documentation regarding training and security agreement on file.
  • Will adhere to dress code policy and present a professional image at all times.
  • Has frequent interactions with patients, significant others, physicians, nursing staff, other hospital personnel, EMS agencies, outlying hospitals and clinics, and the general public. Therefore, a high degree of interpersonal skill, diplomacy, and tact is required. Must have sensitivity, maturity, and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Requires leadership abilities and knowledge of dealing with a variety of issues.
