SMT Inspector - Electronics Manufacturing at Meridian

Job Description

This position will require shift flexibility to work both day and swing shift as needed, generally 40 hours a week. This inspector role requires previous experience in an SMT inspection and QC position. IPC Certification is preferred. The Inspector will be verifying product or material quality and provides feedback to the team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performs incoming, in-process, and/or final inspection of material/products, according to work instructions.
  • Identifies defects/trends, records inspection status, and provides continuous feedback to the responsible party according to work instructions.
  • Performs production activities, rework, and other tasks to support the production team when needed.
  • Maintains an organized, safe, and effective work environment.
  • Works with production leads and managers to meet shipping deadlines.
  • Projects a positive attitude and supports team, department, continuous improvement, and company goals.

Job Requirements

  • Applicants must have the ability to pass pre-employment screening process including interview, references, and drug screen
  • HS Diploma or GED Equivalency Required
  • Must have schedule availability for both day and swing shifts. Training generally occurs on day shift (7am -3:30pm), then moves to swing shift (4- 10s- 3:30pm-2:30am).
  • IPC Certification preferred, and/or thorough understanding of IPC-A-610 Acceptability Standard.
  • Previous SMT and QC experience in an electronics manufacturing environment a MUST. MyData, Panasonic, HSP, GSM or Fuji equipment. Will need soldering skills.
  • Able to identify common component types, packages, and orientations, read component values and tolerances, and make basic metric conversions.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills preferred.
  • May require the ability to recognize all colors in a normal color spectrum
  • Candidates MUST have excellent attendance track record, teamwork abilities, and professional references.
