Job Classification: Direct Hire We are currently looking for Sr. Design Engineer that is an expert in plastics and the design of plastic productsDuties:Design and develop innovative new packaging products, including materials testing, preparation of specifications, validation preparation, execution and documentationCreate and communicate product development roadmaps, ensuring alignment with both market strategies and manufacturing capabilitiesOwn the product development cycle for new plastic packagesCollaborating with Program Management, work with customers to understand their product needs. Develop and maintain technical knowledge, keeping current with trends and best practices Perform troubleshooting on new/existing packages, products and process issues as related to design, material or process.Contribute to capital project justification for new equipment and upgrades to current equipmentPrepare reports and documentation, and effectively communicate results.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a combination of equivalent experience and education/training5 or more years experience with plastics preferredExperience with blow molding preferredSolidworks design experience preferred Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingAbility to work both independently with little direction and as a member of a teamAbility to manage several projects at once to meet established timelines Experience in FDA regulated manufacturing facility and GMP regulations preferred
