Account Executive - Physicians at Boise

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

Through ongoing interaction and under limited supervision, the Account Executive – Physicians will engage physicians to develop collaborative relationships, provide education on service lines and technology and will inspire loyalty to Saint Alphonsus.  Primary territory is Canyon County and the rural areas going West from Canyon County to Baker City, Oregon.

Develops strategic relationships with target physician groups in specified territories. Effectively manages details of the sales process (prospecting, client engagement, presentation and follow-up calls). Works closely with SARMC business development, marketing or other departments to ensure consistency of messages and activities in the advancement of the health system’s  business objectives. Develops and implements communication strategies that build rapport, trust, appreciation and a spirit of collaboration between physicians and hospital management and services. 

Job Requirements

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Marketing preferred, with strong background in healthcare administration or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Five (5) years experience in healthcare administration such as hospital-based marketing or physician relationship building, three of which included healthcare, pharmaceutical or physician-related sales required.
  • Knowledge of the selling process, preferably the Consultative Sales model.
  • Ability to research, understand and explain healthcare services’ volume, utilization and market data, and research, understand and explain market demographics.
  • Ability to access, understand and explain physician referral patterns and to access, understand and explain facility financial reports.
  • Ability to present, probe and persuade and to identify and respond appropriately to primary client/customer needs (service orientation).
  • Ability to provide follow-up and demonstrate attention to details and to prepare and present executive reports.
  • Ability to verbally articulate service line and product attributes and to actively listen to physician and practice needs for hospital inpatient and outpatient services.
  • Demonstrate team concepts; possess analytical, presentation and interpersonal skills, problem-solving and decision making abilities.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Above average computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint (or graphics equivalent).
  • Must be able to travel by automobile within service area, stay overnight as required (typically 2-3 overnight trips per quarter).  Frequently required to work early mornings, evenings and/or weekends as needed.  Valid driver’s license required.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of the Canyon County and Eastern Oregon medical communities preferred.

An understanding of healthcare reform, clinically integrated networks, and managed care preferred.

Shift:

Full-time, Days, 8a.m. to 5p.m. (typical shift, however, some early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends may be required as needed). Exempt position.
