Saint Alphonsus Rehabilitation Services (STARS) is currently seeking a full time (36+ hours per week) experienced Medical Billing Representative/Coder.  With STARS youll find everything you need to make the most of your career.

 

As a Medical Billing Representative/Coder with STARS, you will:

• Utilize your attention to detail skills daily by efficiently and accurately posting payments to patient accounts.
• Thoroughly research simple and challenging patient questions, making adjustments and responding to written correspondence.
• Utilize your high degree of accuracy by posting deposits, payments and reconciling accounts in a timely and accurate manner each day.
• Assist patients by verifying insurance coverage and pre-authorization.
• Gain valuable experience assisting the coordinator as needed with specialized billing projects and staff training.
• Build on your solid foundation in software applications, database management and data entry.
• Serve as a mentor and resource to other team members.
• Continue your dedication to maintaining strict patient confidentiality.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years experience working with patient billing and receivables in the rehabilitation services field or related health care business office.  Basic computer skills with an emphasis on Word, Excel, GroupWise and NextGen preferred.  Must have a great attention to detail and be a team player.
