General Maintenance Supervisor in Mining Industry in SE Arizona at Boise

Job Description


We currently have a direct hire opportunity available south of Tucson with a large-scale mining company looking for qualified candidates with 10-15 years of experience to join their team. We are looking for candidates that have a strong background in mineral processing and have knowledge of crushing, grinding, and floatation.

The General Maintenance Supervisors primary purpose is to optimize ongoing activities and to make the best use of available resources. The variables that the general supervisor considers to perform the optimization are safety aspects, environmental impact, production impact, job priority, manpower availability, material availability, financial impact, job duration, customer desires, and planned maintenance program compliance. The general supervisor is responsible for building and maintaining an organization capable of completing not only the necessary repairs to maintain equipment availability but identifying failure modes and correcting root causes.

Working hours: Monday - Friday

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Directs the field maintenance of all equipment including manpower, supplies, and scheduling to ensure low operating cost and minimum downtime.
- Plans preventative maintenance programs and schedules; provide technical support and services that are required to expeditiously resolve emergencies.
- Provides direct supervision to Salaried Maintenance Supervisors and clerical staff members
- Coaches and counsels direct reports to provide continuous feedback on performance
- Communicates and interprets company/ departmental directives to direct reports
- Encourages an emphasis on the departmental and company safety programs and practices
- Maintains a competent and effective supervisory and hourly force through effective personnel management and labor relations techniques.
- Participates in the continuous improvement of practices and procedures in the Maintenance Department
- Insures that all maintenance work practices comply with Company, State and Federal Safety Standards and Environmental Standards.
- Interacts with workforce and Human Resources, Safety Department, Purchasing, accounting, etc., to ensure compliance with established company policies

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong interpersonal skills in developing consensus building.
- Must have excellent computer skills with MS Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
- Must be able to manage time effectively and set priorities.
- Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Must have valid drivers license
- Knowledge of SAP & Elipse is a plus

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5-10 years of Supervisory Experience
- Must have High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering desired.
- In addition to basic general maintenance knowledge, must have an understanding of heavy industrial maintenance.
