Lead Technician (Civil Construction)- Boise at Boise

Job Description

RCS has an immediate need for a Lead Civil Construction Design Technician in Boise, ID. This is a long-term, part-time contract assignment. Local candidates are required as there is no per diem and/or expenses approved for this assignment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• The individual in this position will provide drawings for a variety of infrastructure projects, such as roadway systems, site gradations and drainage, traffic control, and will also provide quantity take offs.
• Works under limited supervision performing complex technical work.
• Duties may include technical responsibility for a major phase or component of a project.
• Takes lead role in work-flow coordination.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• 5+ years experience with technical design.
• Demonstrated ability with Microstation and InRoads.
• Knowledge of AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Office) guidelines.
• Knowledge of MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices) guidelines.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to use Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to sit for long periods of time and work at a computer station.

Preferred:

• Demonstrated abilty to use AutoCAD.
• Experience with ITD (Idaho Transportation Department) or ACHD (Ada County Highway Department).
• Ability to do redline drafting.
