Job Description


Credit Analyst

Responsibilities are outlined below:

  • Performs accounts receivable and credit activities ensuring timely accurate payment from customers within invoice terms and conditions to minimize DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).
  • Activities may include application of wires to appropriate invoices, account reconciliations, evaluation of customer credit worthiness, initiation of collections on past due accounts, facilitation and collections of debts from customers experiencing credit challenges, maintain letters of credit for export sales.
  • May research and monitor customer and supplier credit history and financial condition through examination and analysis of credit reports, trade credit references, financial statements, and bankers’ reports. 
  • May collaborate with sales, customer service, purchasing and finance to ensure customer credit and collections activities supports sales goal achievement while minimizing risk of bad debt.
  • Resolves stale items on account to avoid collection escalation. 
  • Maintains appropriate documentation and adheres to internal and external controls and policies.
  • May meet and negotiate with customers regarding major credit and collection problems and obtain further assurance of payment or security. 
  • Prepares special projects or schedules regarding customer risk profiles, severe potential bankruptcy cases, etc.
  • Continually automates and evaluates ways to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of work.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Basic qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree is required.  At least 3 years of experience in a professional environment.

Preferred qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting or business is preferred.  At least 3 years of experience in an accounting or finance capacity preferred.

Knowledge-Skills-Abilities:

  • Able to perform in a fast paced work environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Displays dedication and ownership with a can do attitude.
  • Must be detailed and solution oriented.
  • Must display interpersonal, communication and process improvement skills while working under pressure.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a collaborative, team/group environment.
