As the Linux/System Administrator you will be the primary Linux Admin as well as help to provide general IT support to both on-site and remote users. ***The ideal candidate will be required to have strong Linux administration experience in working on several different Linux platforms.
***The candidate must have the ability to identify and resolve various Linux environment related issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as the primary administrator for any Linux systems, including servers and workstations located on-site and at remote store locations. Responsible for providing day to day Linux OS, service and application administration and operation support includes installation, configuration, upgrade, patching, troubleshooting, performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring, backups and recoveries.
Provide general IT support for any end-users system and application requests and issues. Provide Mac OSX support. Support both onsite and remote end-users system. Image, configure and deploy new desktops and laptops for users. Troubleshoot and provide hardware support, includes contact hardware vendor for assistant.
Be available on-call for system outages.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 2 years experience with the following area:
* Strong administration experience Linux Operating Systems, including but not limited to Debian, and Ubuntu, in an enterprise environment.
* Installing supporting, troubleshooting and configuring Linux systems.
* Experience support in both Physical and Virtual system environment (Xen)
* Experience writing shell scripts, Python and other scripting languages
* TCP/IP knowledge and with the ability to troubleshoot system network connectivity related issue.
* Knowledge and experience with configure and supporting network services and applications, such as DNS, DHCP, NIS, FTP/SFTP, SSH, SMTP (Sendmail, Postfix), Apache, NFS, MySQL, X11, VNC, SMNP and etc.
* Strong technical, problem solving and communication skills
EXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING AS A PLUS:
* Network devices, such as Cisco switches and routers.
* Network storage devices such
* System monitoring tools.
* Google Apps administration.
* Xen administration.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
* 4 years college or equivalent education degree.
* Formal technical training or Linux certifications preferred.
