Reliability/Test Engineer at Boise

Job Description

MotivePower has an exciting opportunity to join our Reliability/Test Engineering group at our location in beautiful Boise, Idaho.  We are currently seeking a Test Engineer to complete the team.

At MotivePower the Test Engineer provides support during in-process production testing and prototype testing efforts on all new locomotive builds.  Develops test procedures, specifies test equipment, and identifies data collection method to support testing.  Supervises test activity and works variable shifts as needed to meet production schedules.  Travels to contract locations for field commissioning and acceptance qualification testing.

This positions is required to support organizational efforts for all testing activity and preparations; orchestrates test writing, submittal and review of customer comments with project engineering.  This position is flexible , at times may require active test support  and other times support sustaining reliability engineering efforts.

Job Requirements

Required Experience/Skills for the Test Engineer position:

• 3 to 5 years of testing engineering and/or reliability engineering experience and demonstrated capability to interface with inter-disciplinary or cross functional teams.
• Experience communicating with vendors for design documents, cut sheets, problem resolution and negotiation of product improvement/changes.
• Experience in rail industry, diesel engine, automotive, aircraft, heavy marine or heavy equipment and power generator experience preferred.
• ElectroMechanical inclination
• Good proficiency level  with NX or similar, Teamcenter, Oracle, Ebase or other schematic software
• Must have degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar
