JOB OPENING FOR EMERGENCY COMMUNICATIONS DISPATCHER
The Southern Idaho Regional Communications Center (SIRCOMM) is accepting applications for Communications Dispatcher. SIRCOMM is an enhanced 911 facility providing emergency and non-emergency services to the citizens in Twin Falls, Gooding, Lincoln, and Jerome Counties. This is a full-time position on a rotating schedule. The starting wage is $13.46/hr, with medical, vision, and dental benefits. Employees are members of the Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI), as well as earn paid time off.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must be at least nineteen years of age, possess a high school diploma or GED, and have and maintain a valid Idaho Drivers License. A minimum typing speed of 35 WPM is required. Applicants must be able and willing to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays. SIRCOMMs hiring process includes, but is not limited to, a skills test, an oral interview, as well as a background investigation including credit check, polygraph, drug screen, and hearing and vision exams.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
The SIRCOMM Communications Dispatcher must quickly, accurately, and appropriately respond to requests for service received from the general public involving law enforcement, fire suppression, and/or emergency medical services. The dispatcher provides support and assistance, and relays accurate and current information to those persons whose duty it is to provide these services to the public. This information and support may be provided by telephone, radio, teletype, computer, or any other method available for use in that effort.
