Catering Supervisor

Position Summary:Direct the preparation, delivery, and display of hot and cold food catering or other foodstuffs as required to Guckenheimer standards. Receive catering orders andcoordinate service with individual customers. Plan and execute high level catering functions
Qualifications:
  • 4 years providing excellent one on one customer service.
  • Must be able to communicate with others to convey information effectively.
  • Must be able to communicate in English with customers.
  • 3 years food catering experience.
  • Ability to use basic computer programs for inputting and organizing data and menus.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Must comply with all ServSafe and HACCP programs and principles.
  • Direct and assist with production of hot and cold foods for catering as required.
  • Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked properly. Adjust seasoning to customer tastes.
  • Coordinate the delivery of food, service items, and dcor items to clients on a timely basis.
  • Maintain Guckenheimer standards for correct portioning and catering presentation.
  • Must follow all safety rules and actively prevent accidents.
  • Commitment to the service values and ethics of the client company.
  • Must comply with all ServSafe and HACCP programs and principles.
  • Use of food cost control methods

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Must be able to correctly and safely use standard kitchen equipment. Chefs knives; Convection ovens; Rotating rack ovens; Meat and cheese slicing machines, steamers, mandolins, grills, deep fryers, and broilers.
  • Use ingredients according to recipes, using various kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for service, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
  • Job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress
  • situations
  • Ability to cost out catered events and apply appropriate pricing.
  • Organize deliveries to ensure quality and timely deliveries.
  • Knowledge of rental equipment and sources.

Nonessential Skills:
  • Ability to assist with food preparation and service in other areas of the kitchen.
  • Commitment to scratch cooking and healthful foods.
  • Current ServSafe certification
  • Identify new recipes and catering presentation techniques.
Reporting to this position: Supervises other employees assigned to prepare hot and cold catered food items. Supervise employees assigned to deliver and set up catering.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 #. Employee must be able to work on their feet 7.5 hour per day excluding breaks.
  • Employee has to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods.
  • Deliver catered food to other campus locations using carts and vans.
