Job Description

DEPUTY DIRECTOR of Operations (Utilities)- Under general direction from the Public Works Director, this position oversees and administers all of the operational functions and components of the Water and Wastewater Divisions of the Public Works Department. The position is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and managing the Departments wastewater collections, wastewater treatment, water supply, water treatment, water distribution and recycled/reclaimed water systems and processes; managing the maintenance components of said water and wastewater systems; administering the Departments environmental reporting and compliance, clean water, and laboratory programs; participating in research and long-range planning activities pertaining to future water, wastewater, and reclaimed water infrastructure needs; and performing other job-related work as required. Human Resource Generalist- This entry level position performs a variety of technical and administrative duties in the Human Resource area to include recruitment/selection processes and procedures, assist with job classification/analysis and compensation. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Human Resources Manager, but the individual exercises independent initiative and judgment in planning, resolving routine and unusual problems and organizing work. Decisions that will effect major change or deal with complex or unique issues are reviewed by the Human Resource Director.
