JOB DESCRIPTION
The Materials Coordinator will coordinate the material needs of line crews, metering personnel, and other work groups at an assigned facility. He or She also works with Material Planners, Schedulers, and Project and Skill Leaders regarding material needs, status, and arrival. Additionally the successful candidate will works with minimal supervision to perform materials handling duties as necessary. Generally directs the work of lower level materials handling staff at assigned facility.
Job Requirements
Knowledge of:
Proper and safe handling, loading/unloading, moving, storing, and shipping of materials, equipment, and tools; PassPort inventory materials management software or similar inventory management application; transmission and distribution materials and lines practices.
Skills in:
Basic PC operations including Word, Excel, and Outlook; effective verbal and written communication.
Ability to:
Maintain neat, accurate, and legible records; follow verbal and written instructions; interact effectively with the public, team members, and members of other work teams; perform moderately heavy manual labor; operate various lift truck equipment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High school diploma or GED.
Experience:
3 years of general material handling and transport equipment operation experience. Prefer 5 years warehouse/inventory experience OR a mechanical background in electrical generation or power plants OR pervious utility experience.
Licenses & Certifications
Valid Class A CDL drivers license (or ability to obtain within 90 days) with acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position. If CDL is not obtained within the specified time frame corrective action, up to and including termination of employment may occur. Ability to obtain DOT Medical Card prior to employment or placement in job.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Job requires the person to occasionally bend/stoop, squat/crouch, twist, kneel, balance and reach, and climb, and rarely crawl. Occasionally lift shoulder height and above items weighing up to 75 lbs, and occasionally lift waist high and knee high items weighing up to 75 lbs (rarely 100 lbs - mechanical devices encouraged). Frequently use exertional force up to 60 lbs (rarely up to 100 lbs) to push/pull pallet jack to move items. Occasionally carry with two hands items weighing up to 65 lbs (rarely 100 lbs) or one handed items weighing up to 40 lbs (rarely 50 lbs). Frequently operate foot controls; frequently use hand grasp and fine hand manipulation. Applicant must be able to perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat of harm to self, others, or property. Job placement is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment, post-offer Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) medical exam.
