Project Services Our Project Services group partners with Energy & Construction operating groups to execute projects by providing top-caliber, professional personnel trained to deliver projects with efficiency and certainty; anticipating and responding to project needs; deployingwith market-driven agilitywell-integrated processes, systems and tools designed to enhance project efficiency; maintaining a market-competitive cost structure; and seamlessly integrating functions into cohesive project teams. Our services include engineering, project controls, quality, procurement, construction and others.Position Description or Typical Responsibilities: Researches data for subsequent use in analyzing cost and schedule analysis. Exposed to progress/performance data and associated concepts and principles. Assists in the collection of progress data and review of performance trends. Develops knowledge of earned value concepts, principles and methodology. Collects data and produces an initial analysis on manpower, labor hour, and labor cost requirements versus budget limitations. Collects data and produces an initial analysis for tracking actual cost to funding limitations. Provides support for tracking purchase orders and subcontract commitments and expenditures. Exposed to the concepts and principles of project revenue and cost. Develops knowledge of scope control and change management. Exposure to basic scheduling and cost baseline fundamentals, concepts and principles This position may begin in the Boise, ID office and could relocate to a project site or project office shortly thereafter. Project sites and offices are in various locations throughout the United States. The Project Controls function within the EC division of URS Corporation focuses on satisfying client expectations by working directly on project sites and in offices the department supports.Project Controls is an integral part of the Project Management Team and serves as a path to becoming a Project Manager. Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:Bachelor of Science degree from a 4 year accredited college or university or will obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Science, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Technologies, Mathematics, Physics and Science or related field or demonstrated equivalent and related experience prior to the start of this position.Less than 12 months of relevant post-graduation professional experience in cost control positionsCareer opportunities will include taking long term assignments as part of personal career development. Locations will vary based on project needs and may be either office or field assignments. Due to the nature of work, candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident of the United States.Preferred Qualifications:Some experience in process or heavy industrial EPC/maintenance projects in cost control positions, similar to that obtained through an internship is desirableLeadership Role in an Extracurricular or related Activity and the ability to work effectively in a project team environment.Software experience including PRISM, Oracle Financials, MS Office Excel, Word, Access and PowerPointExcellent written and oral communication skillsAdditional Information:Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.Relocation benefits are not available for this position.Country: USA, State: Idaho, City: Boise, Company: URS Corporation Energy and Construction.
