DevOps Engineer at Boise

Job Description

.Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for a DevOps Engineer on a DIRECT HIRE opportunity inBoise,ID. This position is part of a new Infrastructure Operations group which will be responsible for implementation and support of the SaaS based device configuration and management platforms. Requirements:

Provide direct and indirect support for resolution of customer and internal issues.

Deploy new product releases and upgrades.

Administer internal systems and cloud service - hardware and software.

Create and maintain scripts and applications to automate repetitive tasks.

Work closely with SaaS developers to automate maintenance tasks, upgrade tasks, and product releases.

Lead on-call technical support for SaaS solutions.

Qualifications: Required

Knowledge in current trends and technologies in DevOps

Someone who is passionate about learning what is going on in the industry and finding ways to incorporate these exciting concepts into a deployment system for SaaS projects

Proficient working in a Linux environment.

Expertise with configuration management tools (i.e. Chef).

Monitoring expertise with Nagios or similar tool(s).

Experience using JSON, NGINX, Python, shell scripts. (Experience programming/scripting is an important part of this position)

Experience configuring firewalls, load balancers, web servers, and SQL databases.

Experience with version control systems like hg or git.

Committed to developing and documenting processes, and support related activities.

Preferred

Experience with SaaS hosting platforms.

Experience with configuration management using Puppet or Chef.

Understanding of service-oriented architecture.

Experience working with cloud technology such as: Rackspace, EC2, S3, AWS, etc.

Understanding of networking technologies and protocols, as well as network and application security.

Experience configuring, tuning, and troubleshooting deployments of the following applications; Nginx, gunicorn, Django, MySQL, PosgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Redis, fab (or some automated deployment framework).

Experience managing MySQL clusters and/or replication, and an understanding of the tradeoffs between the various approaches to high availability and redundancy in database deployment.

Experience managing multi-site deployments.

Education:

BS in Computer Science or related field, or comparable experience.
