Engineer Medical Engineering Design Research and Development Developer

 

Job Responsibilities

 

As a Software Engineer you will be a part of our Research and Development team. You will research, design, develop and test operating systems software for medical applications. You will set operational specifications, formulate and analyze specific software requirements, ensuring the use of specific design approaches and parameters.

 

Other responsibilities of the Developer role include:

  • Generating code using C++ in a Linux Real Time Operating System (RTOS) environment
  • Participating in engineering design reviews
  • Creating specific modules that can communicate with one another
  • Modifying existing applications to correct errors and improve performance
  • Evaluating interface between hardware and software
  • Developing specifications and performance requirements
  • Directing software programming and development of documentation
  • Storing, retrieving and manipulating data for analysis of system capabilities
  • Consulting with other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues
  • Preparing reports or correspondence concerning project specifications status updates

Job Requirements

 

Qualified candidates of the Software Engineer role are able to work independently and have a solid understanding of software programming methodology, especially C++. You must have excellent communication skills in order to articulate ideas and share design plans in a team setting. You must be able to thrive in a fast paced work environment with tight deadlines.

 

Other requirements of the Design role include:

 

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field of study is required

2+ years of relevant software coding experience

2+ years of experience programming in C++ , preferred

Knowledge and experience with the Linux operating system, preferred

Experience in embedded computing, networking, real-time operating systems, preferred

Excellent analytical and research skills

Experience writing software specifications according to IEEE standards

Experience with medical device development and testing, preferred

Demonstrated, software and/or electrical problem solving skills

Experience in working with or testing advanced electronics and analog/digital electrical systems including motors, sensors, and power supplies

Ability to comprehend mechanical and electrical schematics
