Under the direct guidance of a Senior Technician or Development Engineer, repairs and or remanufactures electronic assemblies for industrial automation products. This position is responsible for the testing and troubleshooting of all types of electronic and electromechanical equipment, devices, assemblies, sub-assemblies and printed circuit boards including surface mount type boards and substrates. Requires ability to develop a test to trouble shoot and repair equipment with or without prints; (i.e. Engineering Technician). Tasks:
A. At minimum, the work would entail checking the installed wiring to our prints, making sure the correct cable types were used, were terminated properly to the correct device, and then exercising that device so that one of our engineers can verify that the I/O point is connected to the proper spot in our software program.
B. There really isnt a need to be familiar with our RA products, or the process, as at this base level its not necessary. I view this more as electrician/technician work.
C. If the resource had a higher level of knowledge, including knowing some of our RA products, then they may be able to be included in more checkout, This isnt critical, and the potential difference in cost between the two different types of resources may keep us from using the higher level of resource.
D. Looking at your position title and job description document you sent a while back, I would think we are looking at either an Engineering Technician Level 1 -5, or a Technical Support Engineer Level 1-5. More likely a level 1, 2 or 3 in those categories.
E. Its fairly important to have the resources be in the Boise area, or at least close, to help keep daily/overnight expenses minimal.
