Job Title: Barley Breeding Research Assistant Job Location: Burley, ID Qualifications:Associates degree in agricultural or related field or experience in agricultural research. Knowledge of farm experience preferred. Ability to operate small farm equipment (forklifts, seed cleaners, air compressors, power tools). Working knowledge of producing plants in a greenhouse preferred. Knowledge of MS software preferred. Willing to obtain forklift license. Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outside in adverse conditions. Ability to efficiently manage large sample throughput with accuracy.Job Duties:Lead on cleaning seed.Assist with maintenance of small plots, rogueing and general farm labor.Packaging seed. Planting and harvesting in greenhouses.Support role in malting lab.Data collection in the lab and field.Field trial harvesting.Willing to travel locally to accomplish work at off-site locations.Ability to work overtime. Hours: 7:30am -4:00pm Mon.-Fri.
