Job Title:   Journeyman Machinist

Shift:  All candidates must be flexible to work days or nights, weekends, and holidays.

Location: Boise, ID

Pay Range: $20-24/hr

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

Skills / Responsibilities:

Fabrication

Uses Virtual GIBBS programming software to set up and execute fabrication tasks

Use 3 Axis Machining Centers, MORI-SEIKI, HAAS VF II and Mini Mills

Manual mill and lathe work

Proto-Trax equipment

Select supplies (e.g., cutters, feeds) appropriate to the task.

Utilizes CNC Equipment to perform fabrication tasks as required

Multi-tasks when possible

Performs basic maintenance on equipment.

Demonstrates proficiency in grinding skills to include procedures and wheel selections

Demonstrates proficiency in running and programming all CNC Mills and Lathes in designated area

2.  Inspection

Inspects first items and random items on jobs that involve quantities to ensure accuracy and quality..

Uses inspections tools (e.g., gauges, optical comparators) to perform inspections of fabricated items in progress

May be certified on Coordinate Measuring Tools (CMM) and perform inspections of in-house and/or contracted items

3.  Maintain Operations and Troubleshoot System and Equipment Problems.

Troubleshoots and accurately diagnoses complex problems

4.  Documentation

Adds programs to library bank from GIBBS program for later use.

5.  Computer

Uses Documentum to locate and review information.

6.  Support Maximum Productivity

Prioritizes effectively and responds quickly to situations as needed.

When feasible, monitors multiple operations at one time (i.e., multiple jobs in progress on different equipment) to maintain efficiency.

7.  Support Development of Team Expertise

Assists with on the job training of less experienced personnel

Communicates and shares information with group members to support their ability to work accurately and efficiently.

Assists in developing work procedures.

Provides guidance to work group and others in solving complex issues or performing complex

8.  Customer Service

Communicates with customers (e.g., SIG, Assembly, Fabs, Facilities) to understand needs and provide services.

Provides input to engineering regarding design and materials as requested.

Communicates with engineers to ensure the accuracy of work products.

Minimum Requirements:

•   5+ years experience in machining practices, CNC Mills and Lathes, Manual Mills / Lather.
  •   Ability to effectively use hand tools, meters, scopes, and other pertinent specialized equipment.
  •   Well developed technical communication skills, as well as strong and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  •   Ability to understand customer process and assume responsibility for customer satisfaction.
  •   Flexibility to work on shifts (8 to 12 hours), overtime, stand-by, on-call, holidays, etc when required

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

•   While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
•   The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or maneuver in areas of confined width and height space working in or around cramped mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards workspaces.
•   The employee must have strong manual dexterity as he/she is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance as you may be required to work at elevated heights (i.e. on ladders, stools, or other assistive devices).
•   The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than one hundred pounds.
•   Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus with strong hand to eye coordination.

• Ability to work in constrictive attire, wearing appropriate personal protective safety equipment as required, and sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Capacity to work rapidly for long periods of time when needed, including routinely bending, stooping, reaching, walking, and standing in one location.

 

Other Desired Qualifications:

?  Valid Driver’s License

?  Ability to pass a background and drug screen

Computer Skills: Basic Microsoft Windows and Office knowledge
