SAP Master Data Sr. Analyst at Nampa

Job Description

Woodgrain Millwork, Inc., an industry-leading manufacturer and distributor of wood products, has an opening for an SAP Master Data Sr. Analyst located in Nampa, Idaho. This individual is responsible for data definition and conversion strategy from Woodgrain’s legacy systems to SAP as well as on-going master data maintenance. This position is part of the corporate master data team and reports to the Corporate Master Data Manager, who is responsible for defining and maintaining master data standards across the enterprise. This individual is also part of the SAP implementation team, which is currently in the process of implementing SAP for all Woodgrain divisions.

 

This individual will lead and collaborate with functional SAP teams and subject matter experts from multiple Woodgrain business groups and locations, to define and implement Master Data requirements using “best practice" business processes and systems that will be utilized across the Woodgrain organization in support of business goals and objectives. 

 

This position will also be responsible for rendering expert-level system and data analysis on an on-going basis and will lead the Master Data team in maintaining SAP master data. The ability to effectively collaborate with other team members is essential in this role.  This position will require some travel to other Woodgrain locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Collaborate with functional SAP teams and business users to analyze master data processes and requirements
  • Define and document master data requirements and conversion strategy including defining the logic used to convert master data from legacy systems to SAP via SAP Data Services or other tools
  • Lead master data conversion activities for each SAP go-live
  • Analyze potential gaps in functionality and recommend solutions
  • Provide change leadership and apply facilitation and negotiation skills when division-level compromise is required to arrive at a standard, “best practice" process that is advantageous for Woodgrain as a whole
  • Develop detailed functional requirements or technical specification documents based on business needs
  • Minimal SAP master data configuration
  • Plan and perform unit and integration testing
  • Provide on-going master data maintenance and creatively solve complex issues that may arise involving master data, using strong, analytical problem-solving skills
  • Continuously seek new opportunities to improve business processes for master data
  • Create advanced queries and reports
  • Travel to other Woodgrain locations as required

Status:  Exempt, full-time 

 

Wage:  Dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business or related field, or a combination of education, training and experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in business process analysis or SAP master data maintenance
  • Experience with SAP ECC 6.0
  • Experience with SAP Data Services, Winshuttle, or other mass load tools or technologies
  • Experience with Classifications and Object Dependencies desired but not required

 

Skills:

  • An understanding of and experience with master data (Vendor, Customer, Material, Bill of Material, and Routing) and manufacturing processes and terminology
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to retrieve and analyze data from multiple legacy systems utilizing SQL, Access, and other query and reporting tools
  • High attention to detail and quality
  • Understanding of ERP systems and the ability to comprehend overall business impacts and cross-functional impacts of master data structure and maintenance
  • Ability to lead groups of people and facilitate constructive discussion, brainstorming, and decision-making
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate master data requirements and conversion processes, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to plan and execute SAP master data conversion and testing tasks
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively and independently on assigned projects
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to learn SAP functionality independently, virtually, or in a class setting
  • Proficient with Windows based software programs
